andrew 2105

C3'S Andrew Yorke absolutely loves racing in New Zealand. If you had to ask his second favorite country to race, I am sure New Zealand would be the first words out of his mouth.  Today he continued his love affair with New Zealand by coming a very close (3 seconds back) fourth place finish in the World Cup. This is Andrew's best-ever World Cup finish and equals his incredible 4th place finishes at the Commonweath Games (both individual and relay last year).

Andrew came out of the wavy ocean swim 40 seconds back then used his superior riding skills (thanks Cervelo & Caledon Hills for the great bike), to ride himself into the lead group very quicklly. This was key, because some of the athletes who came out of the water beside him, weren't strong enough to ride into the lead group.  Yorke then came off the bike and immediately was pushing for the podium the entire 5km run.  Just 3 seconds down at the finishing line, the life-time World Cup Best Performance is a great indication that he is on his way for a big year.   Andrew's two biggest races of 2015 will b the Toronto Pan American Games in July and the World Championships in Chicago in Sept.

Congratulations to the hard-working C3 member who continues to make the baby-step progressions required to be amongst the best in the world.
