What a weekend it was for the C3 High Performance Elite Team.  C3's Lionel Sanders got his second major 70.3 Half Ironman victory in Muncie Indiana where he defeated two of the strongest men in the world.  American Andy Starykowicz holds bike records at most of the triathlons he has raced over the last five years and Australian Josh Amberger is one of the greatest swim-bikers to ever do the sport. Together the Aussie & American duo put on a swim-bike display in Muncie Indiana and got off the bike with a 3 minute lead on Lionel Sanders.

That was not enough as Sanders out ran them by over 7 minutes to claim a nearly 4 minute victory in the half Ironman race. His bike split of 2hrs 02 minutes averaged nearly 43 km/hr for the entire ride and then he cruised to a 1hr 10 minute half marathon split.  "Once he got a sizeable lead he was able to shut the run down a bit or he would have run another 69 minute 1/2 marathon split" said Barrie Shepley.  Sanders just won the Canadian Sprint Championships a week earlier in Belle River Ontario.  "I don't know too many people who could win a sprint one Sunday and a major half Ironman race six days later" said Shepley.  Sanders will race another half Ironman this coming weekend and then start his focused training for Mt Tremblant 70.3 World Championships in Sept.   Lionel would like to thanks C3, Louis Garneau, Cycle Culture, Saucony, Nineteen Wetsuit, Computrainer, Dr Richard Kniaziew, Benson Steel, Royal Containers, Kinetico, Embrace Swimming and the many donors who have graciously helped he and his C3 Team-mates.
