Miguel Vadillo

Miguel Vadillo is a Mexican-born coach that swam competitively since age 8 in the pool and later in open water. Miguel was a national team member of Modern Pentathlon for Mexico.

Miguel arrived to Canada in 2004 as the Modern Pentathlon Coach for Ontario. He aslo spenttime as an award winning editorial designer that worked seven years for the Toronto Star Newspaper.

Miguel has coached swimming for C3 groups and the Guelph Marlins for over 11 years, helping adult athletes to achieve their goals.

He is co-founder of the Global Swim Series; today the largest swim series in the world with over 64,000 swimmers in 95 races in 29 countries.

He has completed all kinds of distances in triathlon from Try-a-Tri to Ironman, yet he is better known as an open water marathon swimmer.  In 2010 Miguel became the 44th person in history and the 4th fastest man to successfully swim across Lake Ontario - 52 kilometres from Niagara-on-the-Lake to Toronto, raising over $12,000 to help children to learn to swim and water safety.
