23rd ANNUAL C3 ROYAL CONTAINERS - BENSON STEEL - ROYAL CONTAINERS KIDS & ADULT POOL TRIATHLON MAY 28TH
Join 2012 Olympian and former C3 Alumni Kyle Jones as the official host along with Barrie Shepley for the 2023 event at the Mayfield Swim Complex. The Caledon event is one of the oldest in Canada and has helped springboard the careers of numerous Olympians but the focus of the May 28th race is to allow the entire family to compete (3-year-olds to 80 years olds). In addition to the draft legal races for the 14-15-year-olds and 16+ elites and juicers, will be the 12-13-year-olds Ontario Cup Race. C3 also has the very popular Adult Pool Division. In 2023, C3 will have a prize money race for the draft legal 16-19 and young pro division. The highlight of the pool swim triathlon is always the 3-6-year-olds (who can be assisted by their parents).
Registration is now open (see below)

When former Olympic coach Barrie Shepley returned from the Sydney Olympics 20 years ago, the C3 organization decided to start youth triathlon to honour Simon Whitfield’s gold medal performance. Over the years near 15,000 boys and girls of all ages have crossed the finishing line in Caledon and received the same medal Simon got in his first race 30+ years ago. A decade ago, C3 added in the very popular Adult Pool Division. In 2020, C3 will have a prize money race where 14-15, 16-19 and young Canadian elite and development athletes will do two draft legal race at 400m swim - 8km bike - 2km run. The morning qualifier gets the best dozen athletes into the afternoon prize money A-FINAL. Those who don’t make the Prize Money A-Final will be put into the B & C Finals in the afternoon. All 14-15, 16-19 and pros will get two races (one in the late morning and a second one in the early afternoon). This is a first for a youth triathlon in Canada. Family members will get a chance to see Canada’s top athletes racing in the Olympic draft-legal format.
